Are you a Preschool or Elementary school educator looking to expand your curriculum to include language courses? Mandarin Experts offers Mandarin Chinese classes at preschool and elementary schools in the greater Seattle area, both during and after school.
No age is too young to start learning and understanding new languages and cultures. In fact, the earlier children become exposed to these exciting new challenges, the easier it will be for them to adapt to this increasingly global world.
Mandarin Chinese Course
This year long course is designed to introduce young children to Mandarin Chinese in a way that’s new and exciting. For Preschool and Elementary aged children we not only aim to teach basic language skills through fun activities, but to instill a sense of enthusiasm for one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful cultures. We do this through song and dance, playing games, speaking Mandarin, making art, and other interactive group tasks.
These classes are primarily focused on verbal communication in a fun and relaxed environment, with the eventual introduction of writing and reading near the end of the course. Our goal is to help the children become comfortable with how the language sounds and learning to speak the words properly.
Over the course of the first year, children will learn a number of new concepts and vocabulary including:
- Greetings
- Colors
- Animals
- Body Parts
- Family Members
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Days of the Week
- Classroom Object
- And much more!
At this beginning stage, our primary goal isn’t fluency – that is something which develops only after years of dedicated study. Instead, we aim to give students a unique opportunity to not only learn a new language in a comfortable environment, but to give them a taste of customs, cultures, and traditions which aren’t their own.
We currently offer classes for all elementary schools in the Mercer Island School District, as well as schools in Seattle, Bellevue and Lake Washington school districts. Our classes run on an academic year schedule from October through May or early June.
